Realignment of Masterbilt Models Resin Kit Line

Masterbilt Models, Ralph Ratcliffe Models, and Truck Stop Models have reached an agreement whereby each of their respective owners (Bob Johnson, Ralph Ratcliffe, Trip and Cheryl Aiken) will concentrate on the segment of the 1/87 (HO) scale resin kit market in which each has specific expertise. This agreement will, we collectively believe, result in higher quality, increased availability, lower costs, and a wider product offering; definitely a classic win-win situation for everyone!

Bob Johnson, proprietor of Masterbilt Models, will concentrate on new resin project development and sales of 1/87 scale specialty components (specifically excluding Masterbilt Models resin kits). We have added an online shopping cart to the Masterbilt Models web site for 1/87 (HO) scale specialty components that are a byproduct of resin kit development. These offerings include photo-etched parts, OEM sourced truck components and undecorated kits not offered by the manufacturers (such as Athearn truck kits). By concentrating on special project development and sales of specialty components we believe we can offer a broader lineup of quality resin products and more variety and unique opportunities to 1/87 scale vehicle modelers.

Ralph Ratcliffe of Ralph Ratcliffe Models will assume all resin production of the Masterbilt Models line. This allows a single dedicated source of the highest quality resin castings along with Ralph's unparalleled design and development talents. Unpredictable and unreliable sourcing has historically been one of the biggest problems in resin kit availability. This is resolved with Ralph Ratcliffe Models becoming the sole source of production.

Truck Stop Models will continue to be the sole outlet for Masterbilt Models branded resin kits. By eliminating the "middle man" Truck Stop Models will experience increased efficiencies in inventory availability and pricing.

As part of this product realignment certain model kits formerly offered by Masterbilt Models will become Ralph Ratcliffe Models offerings. These include:

Oshkosh FDM concrete mixer

Eagle Indy 500 race car

McLaren M16B Indy 500 race car

Porsche 917/10 Can-Am race car (under development)

Furthermore, the following Masterbilt Models will continue to be offered exclusively by Truck Stop Models:

Mack Granite - original hood (set forward axle)

Mack Granite SBA - set back axle hood

Mack Superliner

Mack RD600 conversion hood

Mack RS/RL700 conversion hood

Mack Vision (to be retired when current stock is exhausted)

All projects currently under development will be offered by either Truck Stop Models or Ralph Ratcliffe Models. It is anticipated that all new resin projects under development currently will be completed and additional new projects will offered in the future by either Truck Stop Models or Ralph Ratcliffe Models.

All Masterbilt Models resin kits will continue to be strictly limited editions and offered exclusively through Truck Stop Models.

Masterbilt Models produces custom built models, resin conversion kits for production plastic models, and unique parts and kits using a variety of materials, components, and accessories. It is our goal to offer you the absolute best available of any product we catalog. Complete models may be offered from time to time and are custom built as we have the time available to complete them. All current Masterbilt Models products are 1.87 (HO) scale. Our products are not intended to be used by children; they can be extremely fragile and easily broken or destroyed. We do not recommend their use by children under the age of 12.
